Citrus myrtifolia, the myrtle-leaved orange tree, is a species of Citrus with foliage similar to that of the common myrtle. It is a compact tree with small leaves and no thorns which grows to a height of three metres and can be found in Malta, Libya, the south of France and Italy.

Chinotto is a very attractive ornamental form of citrus with close-knit myrtle-like leaves. In the spring expect prolific white flowers and an intense fragrance. The small sour orange fruits can be used for cooking in a variety of ways.

Needs protection over winter if temperatures drop too low. Horticultural fleece will keep it wrapped up safe. As with most citrus varieties, overwintering in warm areas and rooms is not recommended.
