A camellia you could mistake for a rose if it weren't in flower so early in the year These double velvety red blooms cover the plant top to bottom.

Camellia have become such a garden favourite because for the remainder of the year you have glossy green foliage that resembles topiary.

Vigorous, compact, upright, evergreen shrub with oval, glossy, dark green leaves and double, rose-form, red flowers in late winter and early spring.

Suitable for woodland and acidic soils. Position in a site sheltered from cold, dry winds and early morning sun as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds and late frosts.

For no fuss or mess you can put the plant in the growing pot it arrives in straight inside a decorative one. This also allows allows excess water to be drained after watering.
For a good fit the opening (not diameter) and height of the new decorative pot need to be several centimetres greater than the current growing pot.
