Found growing in West Africa, this succulent has a regal red colouring to it not found in many plants of this stature.
Water freely in summer, but allow to dry out more in winter, as moisture is stored in the body of the plant like a succulent.
The sap is toxic so should not be ingested and should not make contact with the eyes. This makes the plant unsuitable for homes with pets and children.

For no fuss or mess you can put the plant in the growing pot it arrives in straight inside a decorative one. This also allows allows excess water to be drained after watering.
For a good fit the opening (not diameter) and height of the new decorative pot need to be several centimetres greater than the current growing pot.
Remember to take into account tapering, as the internal height of a pot will be measured from the centre to the top but the sides will taper in on a rounded pot.
