Nothing brings mediterranean cheer like olive trees. These wonderful specimens that can live for hundreds of years.
We do not recommend placing olive trees indoors as they struggle with the lack of airflow and the light levels are usually too low.
Light
  • Grow in full sun. 

Planting

  • Plant in deep, fertile, sharply-drained soil
  • Olives are quite happy in pots, just make sure there is a hole for drainage.

Watering

  • Olive trees are extremely drought-tolerant, but benefit from a good thorough watering (especially if in a pot) once or twice a week in the hot growing months.
  • Reduce watering in winter. 

Common Problems

  • Yellowing leaves is a sign of too much water.
  • Browning leaves or branches is a sign of not enough water or light.
