Related to Calathea and Alocasia, these plants require similar care, humid air, a bright spot with indirect light and minumum temperatures of 15 degrees.

When to water & feed
They like regular watering and to stay slightly moist. Check the soil regularly and if it is becoming dry then water. Like most houseplants, Homalomena respond better to filtered water than hard tap water.
Need to know
Homalomena thrive in humid environments so place in a bathroom or kitchen, or mist every so often.

For no fuss or mess you can put the plant in the growing pot it arrives in straight inside a decorative one. This also allows allows excess water to be drained after watering.
For a good fit the opening (not diameter) and height of the new decorative pot need to be several centimetres greater than the current growing pot.
Remember to take into account tapering, as the internal height of a pot will be measured from the centre to the top but the sides will taper in on a rounded pot.
