Miniature Date Palm
Need to know
Also known as the 'Pygmy Date Palm', the miniature date palm has a slender trunk bearing pinnately-divided leaves to 1m in length; panicles of small yellow flowers may be followed by small edible black fruit.
Best space & place
Phoenix palms thrives in bright indirect light, but can handle medium light / partial shade. If placed in direct sun the fronds may be scorched. Keep at a minimum of 10 degrees.
When to water & feed
Water when the soil dry to the touch. Phoenix palms like to stay moist during the summer. In the winter water sparingly, and allow to dry out slightly between waterings.
Need to know
Phoenix palms are happy in the drier conditions of our homes, and only benefit from misting during heat waves.
