A beautiful tropical palm with feathery leaves, and has become a must-have plant in Californian homes. It gives that west-coast feel to a space.

For no fuss or mess you can put the plant in the growing pot it arrives in straight inside a decorative one. This also allows allows excess water to be drained after watering.

For a good fit the opening (not diameter) and height of the new decorative pot need to be several centimetres greater than the current growing pot.

Remember to take into account tapering, as the internal height of a pot will be measured from the centre to the top but the sides will taper in on a rounded pot.

Water regularly, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. They prefer consistent moisture but don’t like waterlogged conditions.

Optimal temperature of 18-28°C. Minimum 15°C.

Use a houseplant feed in the growing season (spring and summer)

Adonidia palms prefer higher humidity levels when grown indoors, consider misting the leaves or using a humidifier.

Best space & place

Adonidia palms prefer bright, indirect sunlight. They can tolerate full sun, especially in cooler climates, but young palms benefit from some shade to prevent leaf scorch.
