Top Tip
Ficus Benjamina 'Exotica'
Weeping Fig Tree
From the same family as the fiddle leaf fig - these ficus trees have weeping leaves that form a large head.
Best space & place
This ficus, like most others is happiest situated in indirect bright light. It is happy in most rooms, with a minimum temperature of 12°C. It does not like draughts and this can cause the leaves to drop.
When to water & feed
Allow the top two inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Apply a general purpose houseplant feed like in the summer months. Reduce watering in winter.
Need to know
The leaves benefit from a mist from time to time to remove dust, facilitate more light transmission, and keep looking glossy. They can lose leaves when settling in but they are soon replaced.
Pollutant Absorption Credentials
The Weeping Fig has been shown to help remove formaldehyde and Xylene from the air which can be given off by building materials, synthetic fabrics, and some paints and varnishes, making it ideal for those who have recently decorated.
