Hydrangea Arborescens 'Annabelle'
This large bushy hydrangea has mophead flowers that are spectacular white balls, much larger than other varieties.
A wonderful and billowing variety, this hydrangea is perfect at the front or middle of a border, or can be planted in a lovely large terracotta pot.
The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
Please note these plants are deciduous so lose leaves in winter which regrow in spring.
Best space & place
Hydrangea do best in dappled shade – not too sunny and not too shady. Avoid south-facing positions, especially if the soil is very dry.
When to water & feed
Hydrangea as the name suggests ('hydro' = water in latin) needs to stay slightly moist.
Need to know
Anabelle is one of vairieties with the biggest flower heads so may need staking to keep them upright.
