What's different about Plant Drop?
We like to do things a little differently to garden centres and other online nurseries, so here is some useful info about our service.
We like to think not! As we only deliver garden designer quality direct to your door, there's no fear of couriers chucking your plants around carelessly, or of receiving teeny-little postal plants half the size of advertised. We bring you nursery-grade plants - as large as they should be! - straight from the grower.
In order to deliver high quality plants at reasonable prices we have had to forgo the shop or garden centre for a nursery out in the lovely countryside where we can quality check, maintain and deliver to you efficiently and effortlessly. So sadly that means we can't welcome visitors.
We understand how nice it is to feel reassured the plant you're buying is in great shape and health. On smaller plants we hope you can take our word for it, but on larger specimens we are able to send photographs for you to choose from once you have placed your order.
Our plants are grown by expert growers in the UK & Europe. We don't source second grade, and we regularly reject plants that don't meet our standards. We seek out independent growers that specialise in particular plants - like our Jasmine grower in Italy, Ficus tree grower in Holland, and Peat-Free grower in Hampshire.
We already have one of the greatest and most varied plant and accessory ranges in London, but crucially we also have a complimentary sourcing service where we will happily find the plant you are searching for, and deliver it.
How do you drop plants?
Find all the information you need about delivery.
We aim to deliver most in-stock items in 3-5 days, but it can take up to a week during busy periods.
Items that are special order are generally delivered within 14 days.
You can let us know preferred delivery days at checkout in the notes section and we will do our best to accommodate.
To be kinder to the environment and our drivers we try to keep deliveries to a smaller geographic area each day - it means we can deliver more efficiently and keep everyone happy!
We set our plant delivery service up as an antidote to all those damaged plug sized plants that are sent in the post by other online nurseries. To us it just isn't worth the financial, emotional or environmental expense. We think it is much better to deliver locally with our own vans - some of which are 100% electric.
So for those reasons sadly we will not send plants by parcel or pallet. If you're really desperate to get that plant, we know that feeling, we suggest asking a friend to take delivery in our catchment area and having them send it on.
We do hope to bring our service to other areas in the UK through driver-partnerships in the near future.

For further information or help we suggest first checking the Royal Horticultural Society's website, which is such a great resource.
You can of course email us and we will be happy to help, but during busy times it can take a little longer for us to reply to such queries.
We are very happy to make some quick plant suggestions for places and spaces in the garden and home.
If you are looking for a more involved service or plans, we can recommend industry professionals who are able to other a great service.
Unfortunately while gardening is our passion and design of great interest to us, we don't have the resources with all the plant sourcing and delivering to offer any service beyond dropping spectacular specimens to your door.
We are more than willing to suggest people - designers & landscapers who will be able to help.
As potting up plants in advance of delivery can make them incredibly heavy, hard to manoeuvre into homes or gardens, and more prone to damage in transit, we don't offer this service.
Currently we don't have an installation team for house plants.
Returns, refunds & exchanges
We are committed to the finest plants and best customer service.
We go to great lengths to source high quality plants and once these leave our care we are no longer able to ensure they are still meeting our high standards, so sadly we cannot accept returns.
If you believe your plant arrived in an unhealthy condition then please contact us with photographs within 48 hours so we can help nurture it to good health or offer a replacement.

We are happy to exchange items which have not been purchased as part of a special order, i.e. something we generally hold stock of or can resell, so long as it is within 48 hours of delivery and the items are in the same condition as delivered.
A service charge for collection and redelivery will be payable plus any difference in price.
Plants can deteriorate quickly when they are not given the right care or optimum environment to thrive.
We guarantee that our plants will arrive in great health and condition, and provide a 48 hour window to report any concerns so that we can solve any issues before it is too late.
We charge approximately £1 a mile for delivery. Here are some of our pre-quoted rates available through the website.
