What's different about Plant Drop?
We like to do things a little differently to garden centres and other online nurseries, so here is some useful info about our service.
We like to think not!
We only deliver garden and interior designer quality direct to your door. Our expert drivers hand-deliver statement plants and pots. There's no worries about careless couriers, or of small postal plants half the size of advertised. We bring you nursery-grade plants, straight from the grower.
In order to deliver high quality plants at reasonable prices we have had to forgo the garden centre for a nursery out in the lovely countryside where we can quality check, maintain and deliver to you efficiently and effortlessly. So sadly that means we can't welcome visitors to view our outdoor plants.
We understand it is nice to feel reassured that the plant you're buying is in great shape and health. On smaller plants we hope you can take our word for it, but on larger specimens over £500 we are able to send photographs of in stock items.
The lead-time for photographs is several working days. Please note that we do not remove specimens from sale during this time so there is a chance it will have been sold via the website.
Our plants are grown by expert growers in the UK & Europe. We don't source second grade, and we regularly reject plants that don't meet our standards.
We seek out independent growers that specialise in particular plants - like our Jasmine grower in Italy, Ficus tree grower in Holland, and Peat-Free grower in Hampshire.
We already have one of the greatest and most varied plant and accessory ranges in London, but crucially we also have a complimentary sourcing service where we will happily find the plant you are searching for, and deliver it.
How do you drop plants?

Our drivers hand-deliver plants in Greater London and selected surrounding areas.
You can check our rates here or at checkout.
We can deliver orders nationwide by pallet or using our own vans.
The pallet rate is £40 for England, £50 for Wales, and £80 for Scotland.
For delivery by our drivers to areas sorrounding London, the rate is calculated by at checkout by postcode and starts at £25.
If your postcode does not generate a price at checkout, then pallet delivery is the most cost effective option.
We aim to deliver most in-stock items in 1-5 days, but it can take up to a week during busy periods.
Items that are special order are usually delivered within 14 days.
You can pick a preferred delivery date at checkout and we will do our best to accommodate.
To be kinder to the environment and our drivers we try to keep deliveries to a smaller geographic area each day - it means we can deliver more efficiently.
We set up our plant delivery service up as an antidote to plants sent in the post. To us it just isn't worth the financial, emotional or environmental expense to ship plants in boxes.
We think it is much better to deliver locally with our own vans - some of which are 100% electric.
So for those reasons sadly we will never send plants by parcel. If you're really desperate to get that plant (we know that feeling!) we suggest choosing pallet delivery for larger items or asking a friend to take delivery in our catchment area and having them send it on.
We do hope to bring our service to other areas of the UK in the near future.
Can you help me care for my plants?
How to find care information
We have useful care guides on our website for some of our most common plants. You can read them here.
For further information or help we suggest first checking the Royal Horticultural Society's website, which is such a great resource.
You can of course email us with your order number and we will be happy to help, but during busy times it can take a little longer for us to reply to such queries.
We are very happy to make some quick plant suggestions for places and spaces in the garden and home.
If you are looking for a more involved service or plans, we can recommend industry professionals who are able to offer a design service.
Unfortunately while gardening and plant design is our passion, we don't have the resources to offer services beyond the sourcing of spectacular specimens.
We are more than willing to suggest people - designers & landscapers who will be able to help.
We offer a potting up service when the plant and pot are bought from us.
This starts at £15 per plant and pot combination.
Our drivers are very happy to drop plants in a place of your choosing if our additional handing service is purchased at £75.
For orders where this service is not purchased we will deliver kerbside.
Returns, refunds & exchanges
We are committed to the finest plants and best customer service.
We can all change our minds occasionally, so we allow returns within 7 days for stocked plant items, and 14 days for pots & accessories.
If you would like to return or exchange an item, you can do so by your own means or we can arrange to collect the items for a charge.
For plants over 200cm which require special handling, 25% of the item / order value is payable.
For pallet or delivery outside London the delivery charge will be charged again for collection.
Sourced to order items are excluded from this policy. Terms are provided in any quote or invoice.
If you believe your plant arrived in an unhealthy condition then please contact us within 48 hours so we can help solve the issue or offer a replacement.
See our full terms here.
We are happy to offer exchanges on stocked items within 7 days of delivery for plants / 14 days for pots and accessories.

We can arrange the exchange with the cost of re-delivery chargeable.
Credit will be provided for the difference to use on your new item.
Plants can deteriorate quickly when they are not given the right care or optimum environment to thrive.
We guarantee that our plants will arrive in great health and condition, and provide a 48 hour window to report any concerns so that we can solve any issues or offer a replacement.
After this time, we cannot be held responsible for the condition of the plant, or any pests or diseases that might develop in the new environment.
