Brief
Our client brief was to use native planting in the heart of London to create an oasis for its office rental clients. The developer has set a goal of using more local materials and greenery to reduce its carbon footprint and meet sustainability targets.
Solution
We designed a scheme which showcased sculptural plants native to and grown in the UK. Some of these plants were sourced from as little as 15 miles from London, reducing further the carbon footprint. Using evergreen and drought-tolerant planting we also reduced the dependency on water.
The planting was partnered with simple modern planters as to not compete with the ornate masterpiece which is St Paul's (planted in modern orb and straight sided pots).
