For no fuss or mess you can put the plant in the growing pot it arrives in straight inside a decorative one. This also allows allows excess water to be drained after watering.

For a good fit the opening (not diameter) and height of the new decorative pot need to be several centimetres greater than the current growing pot.

Remember to take into account tapering, as the internal height of a pot will be measured from the centre to the top but the sides will taper in on a rounded pot.

Rhapis Excelsa

Bamboo Lady Palm

This is a superweapon in the arsenal of the plantscaper, as it is one of the only indoor plants that actually thrives in shaded spots.

The Rhapis is native to Southeast Asia and certain parts of China. This palm is well suited to shady places, which helps the plant to retain its beautiful dark green colour.

It works perfectly at the back of a group of plants or to divide a space. It brings the sense of a lush jungle to an area, but can also be used as a feature plant to soften the clean lines of a modern space.
