Feeding
Use a houseplant feed in the growing season (spring and summer)
Top Tip
Kentia Palm
Need to know
Hailing from Lord Howe Island near Australia, these palms are still propagated from seeds on the island itself, and the seedlings are exported around the world, supporting the only nursery on the island and the small local economy.
The palms are very slow growing, tolerant of most light conditions and needs watering just every so often.
Best space & place
Medium to bright but indirect light. Full sun will scorch the leaves. Keep indoors all year.
When to water & feed
Feed once a week in spring / summer, never in winter. A good mist between waterings is a good way to keep the Howea happy. Water sparingly in winter.
Need to know
Slow growing, so buy the size you are after as it could take years to achieve much growth.
