Alocasia 'Macrorrhiza'
Giant Taro
Need to know
Known as the Giant Taro for the great green luscious leaves that they have, which by far are some of the biggest we have seen.
These glossy multi-trunk specimens are a real tropical delight for any home or office.
They are native to rainforests of Island Southeast Asia, New Guinea, and Queensland, meaning they like humid conditions but also a good amount of indirect light.
Best space & place
The large green leaves need a fair amount of dappled light to keep them green and growing strong. They love humidity so a big bathroom can be a haven.
When to water & feed
Allow the top two inches of soil to dry out slightly between waterings, but definitely keep more on the moist than dry side.
Need to know
The big leaves are prone to tearing as they are just so large. Best snip out any that have seen better days and await new great ones.
