Passion flowers are an exotic wonder, and in the warm terraces of London especially, they are known to fruit.

For no fuss or mess you can put the plant in the growing pot it arrives in straight inside a decorative one. This also allows allows excess water to be drained after watering.

For a good fit the opening (not diameter) and height of the new decorative pot need to be several centimetres greater than the current growing pot.

Remember to take into account tapering, as the internal height of a pot will be measured from the centre to the top but the sides will taper in on a rounded pot.

Passiflora Caerulea, Passion Flower Climber

Passion flowers are an exotic wonder, and in the warm terraces of London especially, they are known to fruit.

There are two primary varieties, the blue passion flower ('Caerulea') is so blue, it is almost purple. Then there is the white flowering kind, 'Constance Elliot', which is as equally enchanting. You can see why these enticing, winding, floriferous specimens were given the name passion flower.

These vigorous large climbers are deciduous or semi-evergreen in warmer spots, with twining tendrils. They are best planted in a sunny position to maximise flowering and fruiting.
